Welcome home mita way.

Translation: "Welcome Home Mr. Wade. Time for vitals. "
This is Bill's version of what the nurses would come in and tell him every time they needed to check his vitals and give him his meds :)

Last thursday Wild Bill came home! We were all so excited and happy for him to be home and in such good shape. He has soooo much more energy and rarely takes naps now. He has his check up with the doctor at the VA in SF and went over what is to come. The doctor is setting up meetings and appointments with the optomologist to fix the nerves in his eye lid so it can open again!

It's so nice to have my mom and dad back home and see Bill's recovery with my own eyes! Things are looking up! Here is a pic of Brian and my dad getting cozy on his last night at the rehab center.

This is what Sunday mornings are all about.

Long time no talk

So its been awhile since the latest post so I'm just going to give a quick break down of recent events since american idol is about to start :) Wild Bill comes home Thursday!! He has been in the rehab center for three weeks or so working on physical, occupational, and speech therapy. He does therapy 7 days a week, 3 hours a day. The physical therapists like to give him a hard time and vice a versa of course. Bill eats breakfast, lunch, and dinner in the dining room with the other vets that are staying there as well so he gets to talk it up and socialize with others. My mom has been staying with Uncle Johnny and Adam, Traci, and I and others have been going down every weekend to visit. It's going to be strange to not drive to the bay on the weekend...not sure what i'm going to do with myself.
When Bill gets home he will be going to an out patient physical therapy facility to help him get back in the game. One of the neurosurgical doctors came and spoke with my mom and dad last week and said that it can take anywhere from 3 to 8 months for his brain to fully recover. When I was visiting last weekend I was super happy to see that my dad was actually coming back and felt like it was the Wild Bill I have grown to love :)
Shyama informed us that there was a brain tumor walk last weekend in San Francisco, so we decided that we will definitely part take next year in support of the cause. Well I hope all that made since (trying to blog and watch How I Met Your Mother at the same time :) ) Here are a bunch of picks from the last month.
